Question Online bands

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone

I've been around for a while and found a lot of useful sites on this forum, but I have yet to see a place were a musician can cut a bass line they think is nice, upload it to your online 'band' and have other members from that band record tracks over yours until you create a new song. You could have the option to upload it to anyone or just make a group of musicians. You know, if you get some down time from your band and want to keep pressing on and creating. http://ejamming.com/ is kind of like that, but I'd like to find something that's a little more relaxed and not in a live recording environment, and a little more free($).

A site like this would mean that you can have all the creativity you want, without the pressures of commitment and pretty much work at your own leisure until you feel that you have something good in the works, then you can meet up irl and cut an album. Sorry if this is sounds confusing, I'm a little tired, hah.

I think that's a great idea! I just don't have time for a band right now. A site like this would be cool.

There use to be a site that was like musiccollaboration.com or something that was like this. Someone would say

"Hey I have lyrics! Someone write a guitar part!"

Then a bunch of people would post guitar parts and the person would pick the best one then.

"Hey I need drums to play to this rough guitar part!"

and so forth.

Sadly though I can't find the website anymore, I think its gone.

I just realized this post was completely pointless as I have nothing to offer.

But if anyone does have a website like that, pass it along!

I looked for that music collaboration thing on google, and came upon a blog (http://musiccollaboration.blogspot.com/) with links on the right side for sites like that. Some of them look dead, but others might be good. I registered on digitalmusician.com so my fingers are crossed. It looks like a good platform for that sort of thing (they have free, pay, and pay even more accounts), I hope it's still active

Have you looked at www.guitarchaos.com

It's a very active group of guitar players often looking for collaborators for their recording projects. There is also a GuitarChaos room on CamFrog.com.
