Well I'm way into the ol' Geddy Lee sig...
Played one once, LOVED it...
but here's my question, is the quality control on these things safe enough to make an order for one?

I've had to return guitars to Musicians Friend and Music123 and never had a problem. Because it was a quality issue (a ding and really bad fret buzz on one string of an acoustic, so limited adjustment possibilites!) the return shipping was free - they e-mail you the shipping label.

Not sure about the overall quality of Geddy Lee sigs, but I know mine, bought from Guitar Center, was well set up out the box.

For MF and M123 you'd call them and tell them what the problem is. Because it is quality related they will e-mail you a free of charge UPS shipping label. (You can return at your cost if you don't like the bass - unlikley!) You will have the choice for a replacement, credit or refund. Once you get the e-mail with the label, print it out and then take it and the bass, (which you've put back in the shipping carton/packaging!) to your local UPS store (you can find this at ups.com). UPS will take it from there and you'll get a tracking number so you can see when it get's delivered.

Once MF or M123 have their bass back, they'll either ship you a new one or give you the credit/refund. In both my cases it took less than a week to get a replacement bass. I was pretty impressed with the whole process.

No problem!

I've always found MF and M123 (MF is my preference) very good with customer service, whether you're ordering over the phone, asking a question or, as was in my case, having issues with a purchase.

I know these guys make it hard for the small local shops to exist but I do try to shop local when I can! Sometime you can't help but be tempted by their offers and stockwise they have a lot!
