The for sale forums are for supporting members. Stuff wanted is for both non- and supporting members.

I searched all his posts, you have posted in threads in the classifieds, but you have not started one yourself. That is the current way the forum operates. You can post in existing threads but only supporting members can post a new thread.

You can post new threads in the DB forum, but they will make fun of you and get angry and generally do grumpy old man things.

What, the ability not to use this site as a free way to advertise your goods for sale?

That's not true. I've posted in the DB forum many times without eliciting any adverse reaction whatsoever.

Maybe its just me.

I was referring to posting a BG for sale in the DB for sale forums to get past the rule in the BG forums.

Actually, I think this may have recently changed.

A person who posts a bass guitar for sale in the DB forum deserves all the ridicule they get.

You would be correct regarding the recent change in the Wanted forum. It's amazing how many people do not read the forum announcements.

I think it is fair that if you, the seller, are going to make money by using this site, you should fork over some money to help pay for the bandwidth. Although, I should keep my mouth shut on this topic until I become a supporting member.

But I don't have $20.00 on me. Can you take an IOU?

It's the rule, it's set by the person who owns and operates this site. His saying is final.

As for funkedupbass... say what you wish, and a bunch of people agree with you, but realize, that for a site that gets this many visitors, $20 a year isn't a bad price. Another similar site is $52/year and another is $30. $20 is a bargain for listing your stuff. And if you sell a good number of things, or even a few expensive ones, $20 is still MUCH cheaper than eBay. If you want to be cheap, there's always craigslist and bassgear.com but none have the exposure of Talkbass.
