Opening for P-Funk

Sign in to disble this ad
Just got word that one of the bands I play with, Heylady, is opening for P-Funk on July 15th at Alive@5 in Stamford, CT!!! I am understandably beside myself about this! I've opened for nationals before, but haven't opened for one of my heroes yet. And, to make it even better, it's three days after my 26th birthday!!

If you wanna check out the band:
http://www.heyladymusic.com
I'm not on the recordings, as I only recently joined the band (my third gig with them is on May 14th at Sullivan Hall in NYC).

Can't wait!

Extremely happy for you and insanely jealous at the same time! I've been making my funk the P-Funk since the mid '70s. Checked out your site - very cool funk!

Wow, isn't that kind of like opening for the Beatles back in the day?

I don't know if I'd want that kind of pressure!

Big, big, and jealous congrats!

Thats great man! A friend of mine is touring with them right now as the drummer. His name is Benjamin Cowan jr. Of course he grew up with most of them, but hes a funk nasty drummer. Do the thang!

That would be correct (cept as I type, it's now the 13th, so yesterday).

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. We're releasing an EP this weekend (the party is on Saturday at The Bitter End on Bleecker St in Manhattan) and it will be on sale at the P-Funk show.
