Ordering from Pickguard Heaven

Sign in to disble this ad
I did a search & didn't find any recent hits on Pickguard heaven

http://pickguards.us/index.html

Before I plunk down $50+ bucks on a Sterling 4H pickguard (Which is not easy to find)... I wanted to know any reviews.

For my black Sterling HH I'm looking at this...

http://pickguards.us/images/147_Blue_Candy_Crush.jpg

Pretty sick. I have a boring black pickguard on a black bass

Thoughts?

I recently had one made for my MM SUB5.
They took a bit longer than they advertised, but not much more. They responded to my emails, just not instantly. The pickguard was really well made.
I'd say go for it. Good quality. Just don't be in a hurry.

I have two P-Bass guards for my 57 P-Bass ! The choice of different types is great and the pickguards do fit and look very well.

They hardly response on emails - I guess it's only one guy - but the pickguard will come fast.

I'm going to call them today. The EBMM pickguard is around $50 but I think they are pushing $80 for a MIA P Bass 4 ply tort which is insane. I'm going to ask about a discount there because I'm certainly not paying that. I'll let you guys know how it goes but I love that Blue car crush or whatever they call that.

If they are under $60 for the P bass I'm in.
You can't get one, but isn't 3 ply enough? Hopefully they can do under $60 for the P bass tort.

I should add they are not instant...

With custom pieces so inexpensive, they can't afford to dork around with endless emails etc.

They noted an ordering mistake from the supplied pix... (they were right) ... most other places would have just shipped it.

----

One of the guards was a customer's Gold (to simulate annodized).. I'm not aware of any other place that would order plastic then manufacture it to a request.

----

We'll all waste more in this with time, tools and supplies if dorking around with a router table.

Tim

I purchased a black 3 ply pickguard for MIA Deluxe J Bass from them, and they knew the body was smaller than the standard jazz, so no template was needed. Satisfied customer here.

I went ahead & ordered the Sterling pickguard... its awesome. The P bass was a tad pricey & I can get one on ebay much cheaper & I know what to look for to get the right fit. 80 bucks plus 12 shipping is really crazy for a pickguard
The Sterling was 49 + shipping.

Well, some other pickguard places are much better about prompt communication, and they do the same sort of work, for the same sort of prices.

Actually there are several pickguard places that offer plastic "simulated anodized gold". Some of them already have the material in stock, no special order delay required.

I found Pickguard Heaven to be slow to respond, and totally dumb and unhelpful when they did get around to responding. Luckily for me, there are several great custom pickguard places out there for me to send my business to.

Based on your experiences, would you mind listing them in preferred order? Thanks! or PM would be appreciated.

I ordered and paid for two guards three weeks ago and haven't heard a word from them. They ignored my followup email. I wont use them again.
