Which Other Rush Album Live?

Sign in to disble this ad
Since Rush is playing Moving Pictures in its entirety it got me thinking. Which other Rush record would you like to hear played live in its entirety?
For me, the answer is Signals. My favorite Rush CD at the moment, plus I dont think Rush has ever played Losing It live before. SO whats yours and why?

I like Signals too, and I think it is the most polarizing of all Rush albums. Playing that one end to end would be a strange choice!

I think the second most sensible choice for them to develop excitement in their fan base would be 2112 - simply because of the buzz it would create. For my own personal Rush concert, I might choose Presto, though I realize I and two other people are the only ones who really liked that album. Hemispheres would make a really good set, too.

Hemispheres! To me, the pinnacle of '70s Rush.
Plus, it's "only" four songs!

Of course, they would have to play "Cygnus X-1" as a pre-prelude.

yeah, I agree, but maybe they could do both 2112 and Hemispheres (with Cygnus X-1 as well)

Add 2112 to that list. I'd love to hear Lessons, Tears and Something for Nothing live.

I saw Rush live in the late 90s and they did 2112 and it was great.

I think part of the reason they don't do this is because of the high vocals. Geddy has been having a bit of trouble with the really high vocals in the past few years, so I doubt this will ever happen. I think this is the reason we don't hear a lot of Xanadu anymore.

I agree about your song choices. Some of my favorites as well.

Power Windows. It manages to stay strong throughout, much like Hemispheres, but it has twice the amount of tracks. Really the low point of the album is Manhattan Project, and even it's growing on me.

Signals would also be my first choice as that was the first tour I saw them on in 1982. They did play several songs from that album so it would be cool to hear that again. "The Analog Kid" would be great live!

After that I would say Permanent Waves. It is only six songs but they are all great! I would love to hear "Jacob's Ladder" and "Natural Science" live.

I had similar comments ready to go but deleted them as not to stir up the already obvious.
Lessons would be in a dream, Geddy couldn't sing that now unless you had a real Time Machine!

Something for Nothing would be great though. I really wish they would at least consider it before ultimately shooting it down.

That TIGHT Wal sound on that album is incredible.
And it wasn't even Geddy's Wal bass.

You'd think that 2010 being the 30th anniversary of Permanent Waves..............

I think they pretty much toured after every new cd/album and they pretty much play a lot of or all of the newest cd every tour.

I also like Presto.

Geddy should play the Ric, the Wal, the Jazz ... and skip the boat paddle.
