Unhappy Ouch! Broke my fingernail! Help?

Okay, I've heard of using superglue to seal a cut on the finger. I broke the nail on my right index finger off halfway back through the nail bed. I've got a gig on Thursday. Has anyone had success taping up an injured plucking finger and playing for 4 hours? How can I bandage this and still play my bass?

Use your middle and ring fingers instead. Building the calous on your ring finger will hurt less than trying to play on your injured finger. There is a bonus: when you are healed will have all three fingers at your disposal.

Use just your middle finger or use a pick.

Oh. Hadn't thought of that, really. Well yeah, pickstyle would work...have to give up the fingerstyle\slap solo on "Rock N' Roll Hoochie Coo." Oh well. Hey, thanks, everybody! Guess I should learn to play with my ring finger anyhoo, true. Thank you!
