If this ends up being a regular thing where all large lalapalooza esque tours are expected to be free, then the kids will end up thinking any act you have to pay tickets for are just money grubbing scumbags.
Of course I havn't been to ozzfest in years because most of the times most of the bands are utter screamola cookie monster crap, maybe it's just to boost attendance and sale of a new ozzy album. |

You do realize how BAD this will be with ticket scalping and of the sort.
Not to mention the extreme amount of mouth breathers that will be there to see their favorite screamo band perform.
This stunt will only drive away the good acts and allow cun...i mean Sharon to drive more crap ass hardcore bands down our throats. You'll see those rotating 2nd stage bands on the 1st stage who don't even have 45 minutes of material crapping the place up.
The only way i'd attempt to get tickets if Dio Sabbath plays. I'm done with Ozzy and have been for years he's a parody of himself now, Sharon should just strap a saddle on him and ride him onto the stage wearing a "I'm a corporate whore" t-shirt courtesy of www.angryshirts.com

| I was just thinking that exact thought today.
Wonder who will sign up, seeing as none of the bands are getting paid?? |

I bet that in order to get tickets you have to fill out an application and survey and give them all your information so they can pound you with advertisement.
What Sharon (and clown Ozzy) should do is to lower the ticket prices, pay the bands more, but take a paycut themselves. . . instead of 5 million, they should aim to make only 1 milllion. . . then all the tickets would simply be cheaper.

But then again i doubt Gwar would loan the piston driven one-eyed monster to them ;-p

Anyway, interesting plan, I hate advertising, but I do think Sharon has a point about the ticket prices and I do appreciate the $$ it must cost to put on such a juggernaut every summer. I wonder how it will work out.

Sorry to be the pessimist of the bunch, but all too often if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. But Im still going to keep my fingers crossed. Ozzfest has always been a good time for me. I dont see why this one would be any different.

Brutal truth indeed.
