OzzY Concert - Attendance Should Be Mandatory!

Sign in to disble this ad
Just got back from OzzY show in Houston - Toyota Center. Band is incredibly tight. Great song list spanning Sabbath to the new album. New guy on guitar Gus G really shreds. Adam Wakeman, son of Rick Wakeman, plays keys and rhythm guitar. New drummer Tommy Clufetos is an animal. Mr. Blasko on bass was tearin it up too. For you gearheads, he was playing a stealth EBMM Stingray through 4 x (Mesa BB 750 + Mesa PH 810 + Mesa PH 410). Holy crap! Very nice overall production, very funny video clip at beginning of show. I dont want to give away too much more info cause i dont want to spoil it for anyone, but suffice it to say that it was very entertaining and inspiring. I have been attending Sabbath/OzzY shows since the 70's, and this was up there with the best of them. A nice bonus on this leg of the tour is Slash as the opening act, playing a decent selection of GNR tunes.

Go forth and partake of the festivities, my brothers and sisters...

My ex guitard from a cover band went and took his son last night.

His sentiments were pretty much teh same as yours.

I forgot Blasko had switched over to EB/MM's. He had that Schecter Sig for a good long while.

He also said Miles K. was singing with Slash which is FTW, from the clips I've seen.

I had considered going but eh.

I heard Ozzy last month and was a little disappointed in his vocals (cracking, strained on high notes) especially considering all of the songs are now tuned down an entire whole step. I was impressed with his new guitarist though!

Going to see him in Dallas tomorrow (20th). Never seen him before, and it should be great! Cheap seats and a good friend makes concerts more fun

I saw Blasko with Rob Zombie. I dig him - cool tone, and awesome stage presence.

Yeah, I'm surprised they aren't 1.5 steps down actually, lol. He's been a full step in D std. for years now and still had trouble 10 years ago nailing it.

Wow. Ozzy had the crowd in the palm of his hand from the minute he took the stage. Blasco and Gus are good, but that drummer is great! I video'd War Pigs and may get it to YouTube later. And the video montage at the beginning was amazing? "Werewolf? I'm not a werewolf! I'm the f'n prince of f'n darkness"!

He came to Omaha a few days ago and the fans and the media that were there, raved that it was a great show. No doubt he can still get out there and do it. I couldn't go due to other obligations. I'm sure I would've grinned like a pumpkin from ear to ear with my ear plugs in my head (Hey I gotta protect what's left of my 54 year old hearing.) having a great time.

I saw him like 12 years ago, was freaking loud, really loud, people went crazy, how to forget that 10 inches green cigar that we were sucking up while listening sweet leaf ... too bad my wife hates Ozzy

Hey, I was grinning and protecting my 29 y/o hearing Here's the video I got of War Pigs. Not the greatest, but what do you expect from an iPhone? Cheap seats FTW!

Thank You! That was actually great for doing some quick and cheap guerrilla style video recording. The sound ain't half bad either given what you had to work with. Seems like Ozzy still has it to me.

"Honey, I'm off to the Ozzy concert."

"I hate Ozzy and everything he stands for! It's either him or me! If you are going, then don't bother coming back home!"

Hmm, I'm sure gonna miss that woman....
