P-Bass case opinions needed

Sign in to disble this ad
My 1973 Fender P-Bass case has finally bit the dust & I need to buy a new one. I'm particularly looking for all the qualities the old case didn't have; a well-balanced case that stands up safely and securely on its side, and has a comfortable handle. Your opinions please? Thank You!

I have a p bass and I have been satisfied with both my older molded fender case and my fender tweed case, both serve the purpose for me, but these look like their built for whatever you throw at them...

While you are looking for the PERFECT case, go over to GC and get a RoadStar case. They are made of a rigid foam, covered with a kind of canvas. They weigh NOTHING and probably protect your bass better than anything except an SKB or Pelikan case. And - they are cheap!

They even have the handle off-center so that the case hangs level when you carry it. Nice design.

I bought a bass and the case at GC a while back. Returned the bass but couldn't part with the case! Check them out. Well worth the money.

I have 5 of this type of case - 3 rectangular and 2 fitted.

Although I wouldn't use them to ship a guitar or bass across the Atlantic(!) I find them really excellent for day to day usage - light and absorbant of bumps - at least they don't knock lumps out of the door-jamb if you accidentally thump it on the way through, like a wooden case does!!

Don't get a Gator Bass case, the handle gives you blisters and is very uncomfortable and the case is quite heavy. Also I've noticed that one end is heavier than the other, making walking with it difficult.

I should probably get a new case too, come to think of it...

A friend of mine has a molded Fender case, it's quite light and it has a nice handle.
