pa and mics

Sign in to disble this ad
so iwanna get a pa and a mic

preferably low cost stuff since i just want the screaming to be heard over drums and guitars and bass.

not gigging equipment but jam room type stuff

i thought Kustom KPC15 15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn, Nady SP-5 Dynamic Cardioid Neodymium Mic ¹, and a mic cable could work

you guys got any thoughts?

Hi.

There's about a dozen threads about this in the "live sound" section of TB.

Best to start reading there .

Cheap and usable seldom go hand in hand though. For screamo, I'd say one powered speaker at the ear level and a mic could be the simplest solution. An usable solution would cost about $500 (new) or thereabouts.

Regards
Sam

I own a couple of Radio Shack unidirectional mics, and they actually aren't bad at all. Works fine for bedroom recording, and jazz gigs with a combo.

My band has a big bag of radio shack specials and mics that we just had to do a little soldering on that was given to us. As far as cheap but usable mics though check out the EV cobalt series. We got a 3 pack of CO7s that we actually use playing out and they cost us $100 for the 3 pack. They've got a great sound for the price.

No offense intended, but if PA principles and equipment are indeed as much of a mystery to you as you let on, you should (IMO, of course) try to find someone locally who has a clue about it and whom you can trust to help you out. The chances of your solving your problem with advice from an internet forum are vanishingly small.
