PA moniter/ power amp question

Sign in to disble this ad
hi, my band is looking to purcahse some moniters and a power amp, and i was wonder if the power amp we picked out will be able to handle the load of the moniters we picked.

heres the power amp

and heres the moniters

i have little knowledge of how the whole ohms system works, so will it work if i daisy chain two of those moniters into one channel on that power amp and a third moniter on the second power amp channel?

Yep it will work:-

1/ Daisy chaining 2 monitors into one channel - These monitors are 8 ohms each. Daisy chaining 2 of them creates a total load of 4 ohms. At 4 ohms that side of the power amp can produce 245W RMS which is of course split equally between the 2 monitors (so 122.5 w each).

2/ Running the 3rd monitor on the other channel. That's an 8 ohm load to the amp. So the amp will deliver 170w into that monitor. That's a fraction higher than the 150w speaker rating, but I wouldn't worry about it because in practice, you'll never drive the amp full-tilt the whole time.
