PA suggestions?

Sign in to disble this ad
So my band is looking for a new PA. We have an ancient peavey one, but it's pretty sketchy, something seems wrong with it, we took it to the shop and it still doesnt quite seem right, and we can never hear the singer well when we play live. We play punk... we're pretty loud I suppose, but not THAT loud, and it's running 300 watts at 4 ohms (150 watts into each of the two 8 ohm speakers).

The speakers seem okay, so we're thinking about just getting a new head (a much better one), and if that doesnt help we'll replace the speakers for better ones too. Can anyone give some suggestions for good PA powered mixers (preferably that would go with the speakers we have, but anything will help)? We don't need many channels or effects or fancy anything, the cheaper the better, we just want to hear the singer well.
