Yes, one power amp can power two speakers. They typically have two separate amps within one power amp chassis. One goes to output 1 and/or left and the other goes to output two and/or right. Plug a speaker into each output. You can also set the amp to bridged and daisy chain your speakers together if their combined load is within the bridged setting's specs.
Let me know the wattage and ohms of your speakers and I could suggest a power amp, or just a range of wattage and configs you should be considering.
A used EQ would be another good investment right out of the gate. In short, it will allow you to get more output from the speakers before feedback
