| If the rack is full, take it apart and ship things individually.. might be more expensive but its WAY safer.
If you don't put it in a box, UPS will charge extra fees. I did this with a bass in an ATA flight case and they charged me an extra $12 on top of the $31 I already paid.
If the rack is empty, just find a large box, cut wide enough strips to wrap the rack in (think burrito or egg roll). As long as there is cardboard covering the outsides, UPS won't charge a fee.
