Pain in my elbow and Shoulder

Sign in to disble this ad
I am a strictly fingerstyle player and my plucking arm (right) is killing me. For the past week or so my elbow and shoulder have this pain in them that won't go away. If i concentrate really hard on something else it goes away but it's getting bad. I have put down the bass and am going to see my doctor monday. I hope i don't have carpel tunnel.

Just when im really digging in and practicing a lot, and really loving the bass, this happens.

I also am a finger style player, and my right shoulder, on the round part a little more facing front than upwards, and my elbow, (in creased area where one gets blood drawn) both hurt after 15 min of playing. If I stop and or straighten my arm, the pain subsides. What's up fellow bassists?

Please post the results of your visit with the doctor. I have a similar problem with my shoulder, but I think mine comes form working a computer mouse twelve to 14 hours per day.
