I posted a review for it when I got it a couple years ago. Great album- really one that can make your mind wander until something snaps you out of it and you realize you were just on the verge of sleep (in a good way). I like how he reharmonizes the chords at the end of Norah Jones' "Don't Know Why" to sound like "ugly" chords, but it still sounds pretty.

I dig it. Right after i saw the Metheny Trio at Symphony Center, i got that CD [wanted to hear some more of his acoustic stuff]. Totally kills. That's a CD that i can let just wash over me yet i can also sit down and listen to it intently.

take it easy.

It's some of the most beautiful and "honest" new music I've heard in a long time. One artist, one guitar, a mic, and minimal ProTools fixes -- you can hear errors, the sound of his fingers, and even his shirt rustling as he shifts position. Today there's a lot of focus on non-natural sound, very slick and overproduced. This album, while not only being incredibly chock full of gorgeous music, also flies in the face of the overproduced "smooth" sound that's so popular today.
