PDX Bound 12/7 - 12/9. What's to do?

I have business in Portland three days next week, leaving on Saturday. Staying in the downtown area.

Any Oregonians willing to share some dining, site seeing and music venue must dos? I have all three evenings free, and most of Friday. I would prefer not to get a car, but I would if someone had a compelling reason.

You know how people usually say of a town "it's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there"? It's the reverse here! It's a great place to live, but I can't think of much a visitor would enjoy. Actually there's Powell's Books--if you like books, Powell's (downtown) is Mecca.
