Peavey XR600 Problem

Sign in to disble this ad
We use an Xr600 for a monitor amp in our practice room and it has developed a problem. It turns on fine and works for approx 40 mins, then the volume diminishes and distorts. It can come and go. Last night I was just playing an ipod in the less volume/distorted problem phase and after about 20 mins. it cleared up and was fine for about another 20 min. then i shut it down and went home. The unit has a big passive heatsink, so there is no fan problem/overheating. The speakers and cables are all good. I am wondering if it could be a weak ceramic fuse, or an internal resister? Has anyone had a problem like this?
