hello, I am hoping to sometime in the near future learn pedal steel guitar, unfortunately theres not much I know about the instrument and the internet hasnt proved to be much of a help yet.

If anyone has any experience or information about buying or learning pedal steel guitars would you please share it with me?

Thank you.

You might want to learn on a straight steel before jumping to pedal steel. A good straight steel will be a lot cheaper and simpler. Pedal steels can get to be very spendy - sometimes $4k-8k for high quality ones.

yeah, ive been thinking lap steel only because pedal steel is looking to be much more expensive (im looking for a 3+4 and the bare minimum im going to pay is looking to be around atleast $1000 CAD for a guitar im going to want to replace very soon)

the difficulty however, has nothing to do with it, as (like with a 6 string and 4 string bass) theres one inside of the other.

This is a friend of mine from nashville. I know he's starting to put together a Steel Guitar method video, so you may want to contact him and let him know what you're looking for.

I played pedal steel for a few years. It's a great sounding instrument but hard to learn. Do a search on Joe Wright, he plays all styles on steel and has some instructional material available.
