Pedalboard cover art suggestions?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I've been pretty bored and creatively frustrated lately. I'm a graphic designer/musician/bass player and I often incorporate art in all things musical that I do. I want to draw/paint something interesting on the inside of my pedalboard cover; something that is kinda funny-cheerful-cool and/or a nice visual statement that maybe I can stand on top of my amp head at gigs maybe?...

Below you'll see my old pedalboard from a couple years ago. I painted one of my favorite sam brown illustrations on the inside of the cover, was an empty canvas I wanted to fill and the illustration was something that kinda cheered me up at the time. I sold that pedalboard to a former bandmate because I needed a bigger pedalboard.

I built myself a new bigger pedalboard about a year or two ago, and I pretty much got it set up how I want now (slightly different arrangement than in the photo) and I want to paint-draw something on the inside of this cover for the same reasons as before except I'd like to do something thats more my own creation. I've also built and applied art to several pedals on my board.

Here is what my amp rig looks like, just for an example of stuff I've done and am into. I covered my ampeg cabinet with speaker carpet, put a steel grill on the cover, and painted simple nature illustrations on that and the amp rack.

Looking for ideas on what to paint on the inside of my current pedalboard cover. Wondering if there's any other musicians who apply art similarly to their gear, and if so, how you came upon it and I'd love to see it. I'm a big fan of Planet Earth and Walking with Dinosaurs BBC Session documentaries, weed (though most culture/art associated with that I find kinda juvenile or not appropriate for this hahaha), though with my brainstorming those things I'm not really coming across anything I want to paint. Any feedback or art suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well as any images of your art and gear would be great to see too. Party on Wayne!!!

That’s really nice work you do there. I have a feeling you’d be better off coming up with the idea yourself, one that inspires you. Just keep it on your mind and something will surely come to you.

As for me, no, I keep musical things kind of generic.

No suggestions, but I really like your cab. That tree is cool.
