People still listen to Ozzy Osbourne?

Sign in to disble this ad
I just heard somewhere that he's making 2 new albums.

Why?

I will always be a Sabbath head, but Ozzy has pretty must lost all artistic merit. I usually don't do artist bashing out of respect, but this guy lost his marbles years and years ago. Whatever respect he had was flushed away by that horrid MTV show "The Osbournes".

Then the Pepsi commercials. Give me a break.

It's sad what money and greed can do to a person. And his kids are wastes of flesh. Ugggggggg. I used to be a big fan when I was younger. I choose poorley.

I dunno, Ozzy is a rock and roll icon. It would be kind of sad if he stopped making music. I say good for him, and if you're not interested - don't buy it.

I will agree he's a rock and roll icon, but the man has no recolection of WHO he once was.

Maybe, but he's accomplished a helluva lot more than you have, so he still has that going for him.

Just as an aside BB, have you ever started a thread that WASN'T bitching about something?

I don't care for Ozzy, and never did, but he's free to make whatever album he wants.

If he has, I've never seen it. It's like Andy Rooney without the humor and intellect.

Ozzy hasn't really released anything good since Blizzard of Oz. Nowadays, he's a puppet of Sharon who sees a big dollar sign over Ozzy's head.

I disagree. Sharon is alright in my book. I believe that she prefers Ozzy keep making music, but I think it's because she doesn't want to live with a depressed, directionless Ozzy. I don't know if Ozzy can even remember when he was not a rock star. Sharon encouraging Ozzy to keep going with his music is just a wife encouraging her husband to "be himself" so that he can be as happy as possible.

I'm still a huge fan of Sabbath and Ozzy's entire solo career. The last 2 CD's didn't have much to them, but I do enjoy a few songs from them. I don't know about the new CD, but I will DEFINITELY be checking it out, one way or another.

I think he still tends to transcend today's music. What's turned me off about Ozzy and Sharon is how they've remastered Blizzard and Diary without Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake on the new discs.

I'll still listen. With all the crap he's put his body through, it's a miracle he's still around. And come on... Sabbath is classic, but it shows it's age. Ozzy's music seems to fit into a happy little niche that tags along with what modern music wants, but still has the Ozzy feel to it.

"Sharoooon.... Sharooooon... I've lost my cat... please help me find my cat...."

I like how he goes to the mic like he's going to sing, picks it up, looks around, puts it back down and starts puttering around again... repeat as necessary...

Hey, as long as he wants to make music and people are buying it, good for him.

IMHO, he doesnt have the appeal he did in the early Ozzfest rebirth years... Now, seeing him so feeble is... well, its just sad. Kind of like expecting Muhammad Ali to go 5 rounds...

IMHO, Ozzy's best solo stuff was w/ Randy Rhodes anyway, & there's no duplcating that. so....

first off, early sabbath rules. still to this day. they invented metal! but honestly, ozzy was irrelevant. iommi's killer riffs and great songs. geezer's lyrics and dark vision. and dio just killed ozzy as a vocalist. that's why he was replaced. ozzy's a moron. and always will be. and it sucks that he's nothing more than sharon's puppet and has been since he first left sabbath. the worst part is the way they SCREWED bob daisley and all those guys that actually wrote ozzy's solo material for him. what a slap in the face. the truth is, that EVERYONE ELSE in ozzy's life, made him what he is, and are responsible for his success. he doesn't have the sense to get out of the rain, and probably can't even go to the bathroom by himself. and everytime someone helps him, sharon screws them.
