What about this post seems racist? Did the posters state their ethnicity? what the meaning of their "dream" actually is? Whats funny to me is that someone actually felt offended by it.

Look at the title of the posting.

How do you know what race the person posting the ad was or their intentions? I saw nothing racist about it. They wanted African American band members.

I'm not going to get into it too much. I thought it was amusing that somebody specifically requested an "African American" bassist. Not "Black" mind you, but specifically African American. This says to me that they are likely of Caucasian decent, and are using the term "African American" at an attempt to not act racist, yet still look for a bassist that has "funk and soul groove"....So I guess you have to be "African American" to have "funk and soul groove"....

For the record, I might have been a little offended that this particular band probably feels that an "African Amercian" would give them what they are looking for, probably only specifically speaking in "looks", when there are likely just as many competent white funk bassists out there. But for the most part, I just found this whole exchange to be very humorous.

I didn't necessarily mean they were acting racist, it just seems to mirror that general racist stereotype that Black people make better funk bassists, or bassists in general I guess. When I first saw this ad, and then saw the responding ad, I couldn't help but just laugh.

Looking for Mexican Lawn care Workers

Company looking for people who like to work outside and have low wage requirements. Energy and attitude will complete our dream.

Would you think an add like this would be considered racist?
What's the difference?

Would It be considered more raciest if the title read "Caucasian Drummer and Bassist"?

One time I auditioned for a guy who was clearly a stringist. He said I'd have to play a 4-string to get the gig. I don't own any, so I was a victim of blatant stringism.
