Persuasion for Bringin the Price Down ???

I constantly hear people say that they brought the price down by 100- 200 $. I live in Toronto, and the major thing here i.e. guitar center is long and mcquade. Anybody know how to bring the price down ??? I wanna buy a stingray which is 1400$, but I also want to get a wah or a dist/over pedal. Any techniques ???

Set a price and stick to it. If it works out good, if it doesnt too bad.
