I just heard that The Who is going to tour again with just Roger and Pete. This got me thinking... what ever happened with those child pornography charges laid against Pete Townsend? Was he guilty? If so I wouldnt be going to any of his concerts.

He said he was doing research because of something that happend in his childhood. I guess the courts bought it. Decide for yourself.

He had done (does do?) work for organiszations against child exploitation and his claim was that this was work in that regard. If I recall correctly, he had subscribed to suspect sites using his own credit card - not exactly the action of someone trying to hide. Of course the action against him got a billion times more attention than his apparent absolution. | Better explaination than mine, I believe what I was remembering is he works for these organizations because of something in his childhood. I didn't have it quite right.

I have some serious doubts as to Townsends explanation as to why he was accessing child pornography..firstly he claimed that he was "researching " this content for various abuse networks who subsequently said he wasnt affiliated to them in any way and had no authorisation..next his story changed to he was doing research for a book!!!!????..come on! he had to firstly find theses websites (intent) and then physically enter a 16 digit credit card number to access the content.

From the one's I've seen busted on TV they didn't look like Aqualung. They were pretty straight laced.
He does write a lot about troubled youth.
I'm sure I remember part of his explaination was something happend to him when he was young, leaving you to imply molestation, and the pattern seems to be that most pedophiles have been molested.
I guess I fall into innocent till proven guilty,w/ suspicions.
