I just saw this... Phoebe Snow passed away. A wonderfully unique voice (both physically and lyrically) who will be missed. We used to do a version of "Piece of My Heart" based on her recording of it.

Phoebe Snow, 'Poetry Man' singer, dies at 60

Wow, one of the greats! I love Phoebe Snow! Every one of her albums had great bassplaying from some of our premiere bassists. She had a tough life.
Fly on Phoebe..................

A recent live version of Poetry Man. They don't make many singers like this anymore.

Her lyrics on "Two Fisted Love" got me through many a night back in the day. RIP Angel

She was awesome! I absolutely loved her version of "Good Times."
What a difficult life she had.

such a sad story. she gave birth to a daughter who was microcephalic and quit music to take care of her, save for an occasional appearance or a recording. but her daughter died 4 years ago, and honestly, i think phoebe snow died of a broken heart.

but man, what a great great singer. when she got onstage, she showed you how it's DONE!
