Pick players: What do you use?

I don't always play with a pick, but when I do, I use a Dunlop Jazz III.

A little weird, I know, but it's the only thing that's comfortable for me. Anyone else use the regular Jazz III on bass? What DO you use, and why?

I'm a finger player mostly, but I have been messing around with picks lately. I really like the planet waves light .60 mm. Sounds great with flats.

I usually use a pick so I've tried out a lot of different brands and thicknesses, my favorite has to be black Dunlop .88. I use .73 for guitar and .88 for bass. I used 1.0 for awhile but they aren't flexible enough for my play style.

Am I the only one who likes metal picks? Someone gave me a copper pick when I was at university and I used it for bass until I lost it, as one does---I've just gotten around to buying a few more and I find the rigidity helpful.

(I'm a guitard as well, so I'm used to the feel of those spindly little strings against a plastic pick---on a bass string I feel like a plastic pick doesn't have enough backbone.)

When I play guitar, I use .8 mm thick acetate Claytons exclusively.

I switch from finger to pick quite a bit so I use one of these...

Unfortunately it stops me from slapping, So I can either play finger style and slap, or play finger style and pick, but not all three, and not pick and slap.

I've grown fond of the Everly Brothers picks. The star works for me.

I have a lot of picks I have just picked up here and there. The ones I use the most are 1 or bigger, and they have to have a little flex. I have some cheap, walmart first act picks that are a soft plastic and probably 1.5. A few of them I have used so much the first act logo wore off. Bummer...

Anyone used a wooden pic? A friend gave me one, its pretty cool, but started to get ate up with my roundwounds. So its just a novelty now...

When pick playing on bass, I prefer strength and rigidity. In those fields, nothing beats these:

However, when I'm playing guitar, I like these best:

Dunlops. Darn good stuff. Never had one break, and the grips on it are ridiculously good.

Moshay!

One pick will outlast me! (I still have the one I used back in the 70's).

I use the red thickness, medium size.
