| | | | Pick players: What do you use? I don't always play with a pick, but when I do, I use a Dunlop Jazz III.
A little weird, I know, but it's the only thing that's comfortable for me. Anyone else use the regular Jazz III on bass? What DO you use, and why?

| | | | I usually use a pick so I've tried out a lot of different brands and thicknesses, my favorite has to be black Dunlop .88. I use .73 for guitar and .88 for bass. I used 1.0 for awhile but they aren't flexible enough for my play style. |

Someone gave me a copper pick when I was at university and I used it for bass until I lost it, as one does---I've just gotten around to buying a few more and I find the rigidity helpful.
(I'm a guitard as well, so I'm used to the feel of those spindly little strings against a plastic pick---on a bass string I feel like a plastic pick doesn't have enough backbone.)

I switch from finger to pick quite a bit so I use one of these...
Unfortunately it stops me from slapping, So I can either play finger style and slap, or play finger style and pick, but not all three, and not pick and slap. |

The ones I use the most are 1 or bigger, and they have to have a little flex. I have some cheap, walmart first act picks that are a soft plastic and probably 1.5. A few of them I have used so much the first act logo wore off. Bummer...
Anyone used a wooden pic? A friend gave me one, its pretty cool, but started to get ate up with my roundwounds. So its just a novelty now...

However, when I'm playing guitar, I like these best:
Dunlops. Darn good stuff. Never had one break, and the grips on it are ridiculously good.

One pick will outlast me! (I still have the one I used back in the 70's). http://moshaypickcompany.com/compone...id,2/vmcchk,1/
I use the red thickness, medium size.
