| | | | Is there anyone else who uses tiny picks like the Jazz III? I feel like most people use LARGER picks for bass than guitar, but I feel like anything larger than the Jazz III is too large and unwieldy. They're also thick nylon, so I get a little bit of give, so it's not completely rigid, but still feels solid. I haven't been able to use thin picks for even guitar for a long time.
EDIT: just saw the post above me. Have you used the regular red ones? What's the difference in your opinion? I thought of getting some of those.

Just recently I bought a bunch of different picks to experiment with...
LOVE the Dunlop Herco .73 Nylon
Would not recommend the Clayton Phat-tone...covered in hard rubber to give more of a natural sound... |

A little weird, I know, but it's the only thing that's comfortable for me. | Yep, me too. I've been using jazz III's for probably 15 years. No other pick feels right in my hand.
I'm using the Ultex ones these days. They stay sharper longer, especially with SS strings.

I like those big trianglish picks. I think Fender calls them 346. Good for both guitar and bass. I also like cactus picks |

These picks are pretty damn durable. They're made of "space-shuttle" nylon or delrin, so it's pretty safe to say they're deemed unbreakable. Based in California, my band was lucky to be their first east-coast endorsed artist after they relocated their offices to Wilmington, North Carolina.
I'm currently digging the delrin 2mm bass pick. |

Nice piece of plastic.

I'm currently digging the delrin 2mm bass pick. | They make picks for drums, too?

Pretty much unbreakable, but they do wear after a lot of use. (But $5 gets me a whole new bag of 'em). The gauge gives me just enough flex for the faster stuff, but is chunky enough to give thump.
You can get custom ones on their website. I haven't yet, but I'm considering it.
I used to use (way back in the last century) those big Fender ones, but the corners break off to easily. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
