Jon Wetton was using something like that when I saw as Asia show last month.

Not a "pick player", but...

My old man hands get tired and sore easily nowadays. I love the rubber wedgie picks as a way to give my hands a break. Keep a couple in my pockets at all times.

The tone from the rubber pick is somewhere between fingerstyle and regular pick. When played lightly it sound pretty much like fingers.

Same here. It's got such a nice punch to it. Before that I used Dunlop 1mm Tortex Sharps, and those had a nice snap.

The Black ones are stiffer than the Red ones, and the Ultex is the stiffest. Some people say the Ultex has more grip than the Black, and the Black has more grip than the Red.

I'm pretty sure there are other variants as well, but I never messed with them.

I don't use a pick with bass, but I'm working on improving my guitar skills. Coincidentally, I just won a selection of picks from GuitarMoose.com. I'm really enjoying the 'Stickygrip' picks - with my age and having MS, my fine motor skills are not the best and the Stickygrip makes it easy to keep the pick from sliding/twisting around, plus you don't have to hold on as tight. Extra bonus is that they're sticky so you can just stick it on the guitar instead of between the strings or under the pickguard.

Dunlop .73mm and .60mm. I use the .60 for songs I play a lot of chords in.

I am using a pick more and more these days for the tone and some feels after being a primarily finger man forever. My preferred pick is a white triangle medium thickness, 1 1/2" on a side, that was made by Martin but long discontinued. I bought a gross when they were discontinued and horde them. I often get other triangle picks and cut them down to size.
In a pinch I will use whatever is at hand and have been collecting picks for years and years.

I used Fender California Clears (Heavy) in my old punk band. The last few times I jammed with the guitarist my fingers had gotten fast enough that I didn't need a pick.

I've been pick-free for almost a year.

I also use Dunlop red Jazz IIIs. I tried lots of picks when I came to bass from playing guitar 4 years ago, and found the red Jazz IIIs work best for me. I've been trying the 1.0mm Big Stubbys lately as well....don't think they are superior to Jazz IIIs, though.
