Didn't know exactly where to put this...
Anyway, I'm in the process of finding the perfect pick. Currently I'm using D'Andrea Cool Plecs (I presume they're 1,14 mm thick, it doesn't say on them), but I'm just not satisfied with them anymore. So, could anyone recommend some good heavy duty picks? |

The Herco Flex 75- manufactured by Dunlop. I love the grip pattern, but you might have to go and pick and choose from the drawer, I've found there's stiffer ones than others- I prefer the stiffer ones.
The Brain picks by Snarling Dogs. I was introduced to them as "cat's tongue" pics because the relief pattern in the picks feel like cats' tongues. The the grey 1mm are just right but the orange 1.14mm are a bit too stiff for me-
The Jim Dunlop branded nylon picks are good- I prefer the black 1mm and the dark grey .88.

| | | I sometimes use Dunlop Tortex .50 (the red one) on bass when recording; sorta like a built-in limiter.
You could try the Dunlop #475 Big Stubby though. They have absolutely no give to them. Might dent your strings after awhile though.

Yep, autoharp picks that are made of tightly wound wool. |

| | | | Lately I've been using a Pickboy Edge (carbon/nylon) 1.14mm. But over the years I've used everything from the gray Hercos to the Dunlop 207 Jazztones, which are over 2mm.
Try lots of picks and keep 'em around. They're cheap EQ. |

I don't use a pick all the time and switch between fingerstyle and
pick in the middle of songs, so having it attached to me makes
doing that easy. |

Dunlops wear out. Claytons wear about three times slower..and to me they sound much much better... attack softly, and there is more thump - attack harder, and the attack is more pingy, unlike the Dunlop Tortex, which are more clicky, and have less harmonics...
I went from Dunlop Tortex 1.14mm large triangle to Clayton Acetal 1.26mm large triangle..try them!
