i just bought one of those planet waves input cords that have a circuit breaker on the actual cord so you can cut power to your bass and unplug it wihtout having to worry

i play an active

and would i be able to hit the curcuit breaker and leave it plugged in without draining the battery?

No, you'd still have to physically remove the cord.

Maybe. The battery is connected when 2 pins touch the sleeve of the input plug. So, it would depend if the circuit breaker switch breaks the connection to the tip or the sleeve. If it breaks the tip, the battery is still on, and you're out of luck.
You could test it with a volt meter to check continuity. Do you know how to do that?
Check continuity of tip-to-tip, and sleeve-to-sleeve while activating the breaker. If it breaks the sleeve, you're good to go.

EDIT: I changed "Yes, I think so" to "Maybe" to reflect Dash's post above.

OK, I think I was wrong, and Dash is correct. The pins remain in contact regardless of what the breaker does. Duh!!!! I was drawing it up quickly and found that I was wrong. Yeah, looks like you gotta pull the plug.
