Planet Waves NS Tuner?

The ball-socket on my Snark broke, and I'm considering getting the Planet Waves NS Mini tuner, since it seems like I could leave it on the headstock most of the time.

My main bass is a Dingwall ABZ5, which has a 2+3 headstock. I've only seen the NS tuner on 4-inline bass headstocks, and 3+3 and 6-inline guitar headstocks. The 3+3 photos show putting the tuner on the front face of the headstock, which I think looks stupid and amateur.

Is anyone using the Planet Waves tuner on a non-4-inline headstock and can show a quick picture?

I leave one on my Conklin -- it's fast an accurate

The only issue is the on button and frequency button can become bummed - not a huge issue as I think it auto shuts off

Oh yes

From the bass front the average person can't see it

I use the NS Tuner with a 3+3 headstock and it fits on the back just fine, so you won't look silly or amateurish.

In terms of accuracy, it will depend on where you put the tuner on the headstock (which I understand, a lot of which comes down to where there's room). In some spots, it won't track my B string at all, and in others it's no problem. Hopefully you'll have a couple of options of where to put it.

Have one on my ABII, no problems fitting. Sometimes has problems with the low B registering, but usually a few nudges will get it back into p,ace so it can pick it up, or I fret at fifth fret and it will pick up as 'E' without much problem.

Thanks for the input, I jut didn't want to get one and then have it on the front of the headstock where it's hard to see.

Tune the low B with the 12th fret harmonic.

And if you don't have the intonation set on the B string, that doesn't work as accurately.

I bought 4 of them...3 are on my uprights (attached to the bridges where they work well) but the 4th is now RIP after it flew off the headstock of my 53 P-bass at a gig.

The headstock needs enough flat open space to allow a good grip and Tele-style headstocks don't

Why not? Are you saying the harmonic will be out of tune with the open string?
