I have to pick up tabla again... I still do pull out my didj for beach sessions and some gigs though. |

I first started with acoustic piano, then acoustic guitar, then electric guitar, then tuba, then acoustic bass (contrabass), then 'cello, then flute before finally starting with the electric bass . . . |

And... what about singing? I've done that more or less my entire life but I started singing/gigging at the age of 17. Your voice is an instrument in its own way as well, and it takes practice to get good at it as with any other instrument.

It's been a real struggle to shift into bass clef and bass fingering, even though I've been playing bass for 16 years. |

I picked up guitar when I was 10. When I as 11 or 12 I switched to bass because my band needed a bassist. That one practice changed my whole life! |

Since my sophomore year I have played bass in the bands at school. I think I picked up bass about two or three years into playing saxophone. It was hard for me to learn bass clef but it didn't take to much. |
