What is your goto bassline when trying to impress a lady or just a causal observer? I break into Rush's Tom Sawyer for that quick "That's cool" thing. What are some better ones for me to practice?

I'm a cynic.
I'm also kidding. I usually don't try to impress people, but I mostly play at church and ... yea.

I agree with the other replies. Unless you can improve a mean slap solo, bass is usually kind of bland by itself.
With or Without You is also an excellent solution.

Actually I get my best results from playing Fur Elise, everyone knows that.
