Nothing's better than the Ibanez Steve Vai signature pic, IMHO

Dunlop Derlin 500 2mm. A few guys I know prefer Gator Grips and Big Stubby's as well. I prefer the Derlin for whatever reason though, used it pretty much all the time since I started.

It's a Dunlop one, it's a light-ish blue, thick, and it's quite fuzzy and soft.

That's all I know about it. I normally just walk into my music store and seek em' out. Never once looked at the description

It sounds balsy and makes my bass growl, but at the same time, it can sound warm and soft.

Juratex Cool Picks with the sandy textured area. I've yet to drop one and I play pretty aggressively. I use the 1.0mm's. Best move you'll ever make.

When I'm using a pick, I tend to go for a 3.0mm Big Stubby, I find a really nice contrast between it and my fingers for switching between the two, whereas with some of the smaller/less rigid picks, the difference isn't quite so blatant. I like it obvious!

Every bass I own has grey dust under the strings.

Dunlop Tortex for me, as well. I stick to .73's and buy the black ones for THA METAL! I also just got a half-dozen of the pick of destiny picks... they add something new. Lots of swipe-noise as the pick crosses the string. Bad? Not sure... seems like it'd help the higher-note-shuffles cut a bit.

David Ellefson uses the tortex 0.88mm(green) picks, considering the music he's played for the past 25 years, they're worth a shot.

Mine are forged from the bones of the damned in the fires of hell. I've found these to be the best pick for metal. I think they're Dunlops.

I am an Ellefson fan and I actually tried them. I couldn't hang, I need the slight springiness of the grey nylon.
