I think it'd be a good idea for my band to try, as we tend to speed up through the upbeat songs, and...some band members have a poor sense of timing...
How do you pull it off? Does just the drummer get it or do you send it to everyone? I can imagine the beeps being heard by the audience..that'd sound amature...how goeth it??

Most definitely use it for rehearsal to get everyone used to "REAL TIME"... Your band members would find practicing to a click/drum machine something would help them.
I tell my students when they first use one that it will get used to where they tend to speed up and slow down.
As far as live goes, if using InEarMonitors, it's easy... Otherwise, you can feed in to just the drummer and everyone must cooperate with his time. That's why using for rehearsals a few times is important!!!
