Playing for friends/family

So i mainly play blues and funk (mostly 70s Parliament style, EarthWindFire, even a bit of RHCP).

Anyhow, I've been trying to locate tunes/riffs that when my friends (buds or gf) or family come over, they always want to hear me play, solo (or with a drum machine/garageband). I've never considered myself a soloist as I prefer the 'in the pocket' bassist. Most of the basslines I know don't stand very well on their own and there's usually a good amount of repetition.

Any suggestions? I'm not looking for 4bar riffs (ala "Play the intro to 'My Girl'...")
