So i was at this band tryout the other day (which I made, wooo) anyways. we began one of there songs and I used to follow the speed fom the one off there myspace. Well everything was slowed down haha and it was just throwin me off a little, I played it fine, but it felt so weird, Just had to look over to the drummer and watch for certain beats to stay on time. Anyone else have this feeling before or have had this happen to them at any point?

Playing at any tempo at any time is a skill that can (should) be worked on and improved

It's one thing if the song is consistently slow from beginning to end. Then I can compensate with a slight style change to create a new groove.

It's another thing if things slow down during the song. That's not acceptable and it means the drummer has some homework to do.

Not sure which one you meant.
