Playtech Cabs

Ok, I don't really know where to put this, since this company sells a whole lot of Bass gear here in Japan - from effects to cabs to even bass guitars themselves.

The thing is that they sell so cheap. About $30 for a pedal and $300 for a 410 (which is amazingly cheap over here).

Now, I know if it's too good to be true...

Nevertheless, I can't seem to find any info on the company itself, you know, even like a home page. And the irony is that they sell mostly via the internet - and the stock is everywhere!

I'd like to try it out (even if I won't buy it)... but I am wondering if anyone knows anything about this company?

All google turned up is some software development and/or online casino thing. Do you live in Japan and see things everywhere but don't know where to buy them?

Yeah, I live in Japan.

Even google Japan (in Japanese) picks up the same results or else just retailers selling the playtech gear...

The stuff is being sold through several major retailers (not in my area though) and advertised in Japan's major Bass magazine too...

So what's the name of some of these retailers, the magazine, the town you live in or nearest major city, etc. Not to pry but just trying to find things out. I know nothing of Japanese bass gear other than MIJ Fenders some of which were fine instruments and of course my japanese cars which will outlast anything made here, now. When I think of modern day japanese music, thump, thump techno and DJ gear come to mind, I don't know what else is going on over there.

Well, FWIW, Japanese stuff is usually really good quality. No bones there. This stuff is just so cheap is all.

The magazine is called Bass Magazine.

The Stores selling this gear include:

Rakuten.co.jp

Amazon.co.jp

Soundhouse...

and I live near Nagoya, biggest city in central Japan.

good luck

Not that anyone will read this since it ended up in the Miscellaneous section...

Playtech cabs are an entry level cab (they do effects and guitars too) made by the Music Retailer Known as Soundhouse in Chiba, Japan.

I Have yet to play one so can't assess whether they are just cheap <ahem> or if they are any good.

I found this out via an email I sent to Soundhouse earlier today.

I checked out the pedals on the amazon site--they look very similar to Artec pedals--I wonder if thats a "same factory, different name" thing.
I didn't see any bass cabs, but generally when someone say "entry level" I would have trouble believing that they are worthwhile unless you were a beginner.
