silver side up was pretty mediocre, and i can still tolerate a few songs from it.. mostly because they were honest. tunes about how hard his life has been, and how he was raised. things i can get behind.

the next album was tolerable.. a few funny songs on there.

but hes out of control. seriously.. i almost lost my **** when they released that "if everyone cared" song, and now this "be somebody" bull****. just saw the video... now he went and got a pretty boy hair cut and doesnt look homeless anymore.

he must be stopped. ill let him slide with giving birth to hinder, theory of a deadman, saving abel, and 1 in every 10 "original" cincinnati bands, but he needs to stop making music, and in a hurry.

whos with me?

Hey, I started listening to Godsmack almost ten years ago and still do. Nickelback's put out some crap music, but then again who hasn't? They've put out a few really catchy tunes too.

I'm not saying I'm a fan. I've actually found myself singing along to something on the radio, enjoying it, before I realize who it is and then proceed to punch myself in the face for enjoying Nickelback.

Yeah I loved them (Godsmack) for awhile...I'm just saying that style has been done (and done better IMO). Then again I haven't listened to enough Nickleback to make an accurate comparison and I generally confuse them with all the other bands that came out around them that sound the same way...POD, Puddle of Mudd, Staind.

I'm not a Nickelback fan. Just not in my sphere of listening. But I do think he's become a bit too easy of a target, especially among musicians.

That said, I still thought this was funny:

I don't mind the guy. I like some of the songs I hear, mostly the older ones. They had this one about screwing in a car and getting caught by her dad. I didn't like that one at all.

Trust me, I live in Vancouver and it's way worse when you're embarrassed because he's local. When LoG came to play here off the Ozzfest tour a roadie came onstage with a Nickleback shirt and nearly got lynched by the crowd.
