Plugging an amp to a PC

I was browsing through one of the joke threads here @TB, and one post there made me consider adding my combo as a subwoofer to my PC sound system.
The question is how it's better to do that. If anyone anything like that, sharing the experience will be appreciated.

I have an Ibanez 30W combo, and it has CD-Input jacks, and from the other side 2 above-average PC speakers, so I thought either to:
1. Split the line-out, so one cable will go to the normal speakers, and another will go to the combo.
or
2. Leave the PC-speakers connection as is, and bring a cable from the speakers to the combo.

So which way would be preferrable, if any, and is doing stuff like that advisable at all?
