(Sorry, I know it's an old argument, but couldn't resist).

btw, great game with lots of great tracks. I got into slayer and motley crue because of 'raining blood' and 'too young to fall in love' from the gta tracks. love it when they play 2 minutes to midnight |

They were very often accused of being a PJ ripoff when they only had 1 album.
I can see where critics were coming from on the 1st album 'cause weiland sang a lot like vedder on the 1st album, but since then his range has opened up a lot, while vedder still pretty much mumbles a lot. And I never heard what they were talking about in regards to the music. STP sounded like hard rock w/ some sorta-jazzy chords thrown in, and PJ was blues grunge.

But then again, i think it's got a lot to do with tastes... a friend of mine is a huge fan of acdc, and i always tell him to bother him that every song is the same... but each one is different to him.. same thing happens to me with hardcore metal bands...
and that video on storytellers was really nice! it seems funny to me though that the audience has to be sitting down and they don't stand up and dance... i wouldnt like to be playing that song and have the whole audience sitting down.

They are one of those bands that i didn't pay attention to when they were on top because i was "too cool". I've recently gone back and gotten into them. I love their stuff. Such a great band and such great bass playing. I think the only similarity between them and PJ is the way he sang Plush on the recording. If you listen to him live, like on the above video, he clearly sounds nothing like EV. Weiland is an AMAZING singer. Great band. period. |

I can't stand that silly Slither dance he does though. |

not to mention he turned more 'feminine', too |
