I cant stop listening to these two songs! I can't seem to get into jaco, but these two songs are simply amazing. Is that regular strings on a fretless or flatwound strings? Also, since I only heard a few songs by jaco, what albums and other songs do you recommend by him in the same vein as those two songs.

Also, does jaco have anything that rock hard or is funky?

"Come On, Come Over", from his self-titled debut album boasts a funky, groovy bassline. My favorite Jaco works are:

- Jaco Pastorius. Where "Portrait Of Tracy" and "Continuum" come from.

- The Birthday Concert. One of the most astonishing bands you'll ever hear.

- Weather Report's "Heavy Weather". Although I must say that "Teen Town", which is one of the most praised Jaco compositions, has never impressed me as a song. I mean, it's great as a technical study, but musically doesn't do it for me. On the other hand, "A Remark You Made" is one of his most beautiful performances to me.

- 8:30. A great live album by Weather Report.
