Generally speaking, my experiences with CL has been pretty good. It helps living in a large metropolitan area (Minneapolis/St. Paul) because it increases the market. I have done my share of selling on TB and eBay, but I like CL because there is no shipping and no PayPal fees.

A couple of nice CL scores for me...

• a mint condition EBMM Sterling for $600. The guy was a carpenter and someone gave him the bass for some work he did. We both walked away happy.
• a beautiful (also mint) Gibson Les Paul Classic for $900.

Does anyone else have trouble getting people to respond to your craigslist requests? I've sent about 10 emails to people saying I want to buy their item. When do they want to meet? Haven't heard anything from anyone lately. I don't understand why people post things with no phone number, but don't respond to emails. Pretty annoying.

I just recently had a guy stop by to check out compressor pedal. While he was testing it out, he asked why there was a volume drop when he played notes.

Every CL deal I've done has been good. Sometimes I've shone up and decided not to buy after inspecting the item, but that happens.

If I sell something on there I have them come into one of my businesses and pick it up, that usually screens out the flakes and the sketchers. Even those that always wanted to see or play what I was selling will only check the item out for a couple minutes because of the environment.

I also tell them straight up at least twice not to show up and offer me any less than the agreed upon price. Saves us both time and frustration.
