I saw on a google video Billy sheehan and Paul Gilbert were playing with some sort of modified power drill instead of a pick or fingers, is it a special type of drill or did they just stick a pick on the tip, etc...? Can that particular drill be for sale?

Started off a joke in Mr. Big. Some people took it seriously and he ended up with a Makita endorsement.

It's just a normal drill.

Yeah, Paul Gilbert started using it when he was in Racer X, but Eddie Van Halen kinda stole it for Poundcake.

Yeah, only his was really lame! All he did was hold it colse to the pickups and rev it a few times. Oooo! Stupid guitarists.

Just don't do it with long hair. Notice how Paul Gilbert has short hair now? Yeah.

The Mr. Big Guys had picks hot-glued to the drill bits, kind of like a fan so they could get fast tremelo picking. EVH just put the drill motor up to the pickups so the drill sound would come through the amp.
