On the back of most CDs I own, it mentions the label and copyright info. We're releasing this one independently, so no label, but you know the FBI warnings about copying? Also, the ones I have all seem to have the same FBI warning badge on them. Does anyone know anything about this? Is this something you can download and put on the CD as long as it's copyright? |
I'm not sure what you're asking. By law, everything on that CD is copyrighted. If it's an original song, it's copyrighted to you when you first wrote down the chord structure and lyrics,, when the CD was pressed, or it was produced in some tangible form. If you didn't write the song, then someone else has the copyright to the song, or (if it's over 75 years old) it has no copyright.
Unless they're cover songs or you specifically sold your copyrights to someone else, your songs on that CD are copyrighted to you by the very nature of the law that provides for copyrights.
There's legally no need to put on an FBI warning of any sort on your CD. If you want to for some reason, then go ahead, but I have no idea what it might say.
