Sent a Tber a personal check weeks ago (yeah I know, I was too trusting there to start with). He cashed it and then gave me several excuses on why he could not ship it again and again (no money, no time, etc, etc).
After mulitple nagging PMs to him, he sent me a reply several days ago that it was shipped and he would get me the tracking info later. The bas would have arrived by now if he did in fact ship it. No PMs from him since then or any sign of him. I've called him everyday now since Monday. He won't return my calls or PMs. I'm out several hundred $$$. I'll be giving his full info up in a few days if I still hear nothing (TB name, real name, home addy, phone, place of employment, etc). This way, the rest of you can avoid him. Nobody else should have to get screwed by this guy like I did!!!!!

If it doesn't show by Tuesday, then I would call his local police dept and report it as check fraud, and make sure you have it written up with your PD as well. In your case, you could go down there to the station and file your report there. Hope it doesn't come to that. But if it does, I hope justice prevails! |

It's in another state obviously, so I'll have to file with his local police dept. This is my first truly bad experience here on TB. I've had damn near 100% successful purchases here on TB

Good luck, Quad!

The seller didn't mention anything about waiting for the check to clear?
Not responding to emails, etc. is nerve racking! Hope you get the item, or get your money back soon.

No mention of check clearing and I even overnighted it to him, because he needed it fast. Evidently he did not feel the need to return the favor on fast shipping. And besides, the check would have cleared a long while ago.
Well I know where he works (a big, nation-wide financial institution). I'm going to start calling there next week and let his superiors know what kind of employee they have working for them. I also sent a note to his girlfriend on myspace (she was linked to his band's site) and told her what her man has done to me.
I'm going to make this guy's life real miserable, real soon at work, at home, with the cops, etc. I'll give him another couple says before I hit up the cops and his work just in case by some strange miracle, he has a valid excuse. But the thing is, he put me off several times before avoiding me all-togther, so I have to assume that he has screwed me (wouldn't you??)...

&For the record, if I sold something to you, I wouldn't wait for anything to clear.

I haven't dealt with anyone from TB (yet)
But have been ripped off on the bay. And it totally sucks being on that end.
It's not cool at all, but I suppose there are @#$holes everywhere,
even on a site where I consider most are stand up people.
I really hope there is a VALID reason for it not being received yet or like you said, you are able to make his life hell!!!!!!!!
sorry for your luck |

I've had some fantastic transactions over the last couple years of intense buying and selling and trading, but about 1/3 of the TB transactions have been anywhere from weird to bad. They always resolve themselves somehow but it usually takes either patience or action on my part for it to work out. Even if their feedback is good, the experience sometimes isn't.
Hopefully this works out okay for you in the end. |

It's WORLDS better than Ebay in my book!

On the other hand, if we want it to stay that way, we must maintain a high standard to keep TB on the ' up and up' as long as we can.
...Go do what you gotta do.. no one will blame you one bit! |

...Go do what you gotta do.. no one will blame you one bit! | I do trade and sell a lot here and haven't had any probs whatsoever. However it does only take one a**hole to taint your next transaction.....and there is a whole host of them on the web in general & in the world. Crucify the bastard. |

The guy's girlfriend contacted him because of my Myspace note to her (using a guy's girl to get to him works). Anyway, he said that he was in the process of moving in the building from one office to another and had not check voicemails in days. He also said he had not checked his cell messages in days. He also just moved from one apartment to another. So all of this stuff combined is why he did not contact me.
He said that he sent the bass Monday from a Pack and Ship center and that he gave them all of my info including my phone # and email addy to inform me of the shipment and to keep me posted on progress (I never got a call or email). He thinks they sent it US Postal instead of UPS (they were supposed to use UPS to begin with). UPS would have been here by now, that's another reason why I was so concerned in addition to not hearing back from him for days and days...
He said he is going to fax me his copy of the shipping receipte later. I'll keep ya'll posted...

Great to hear that it may be being resolved.
Sounds more like an irresponsible guy though. Man, I bust my butt to get things shipped out that I sell - here or on eBay.
