As much as I love Freddie King, I wouldn't pay that much for that neck. Now if he had offered the complete bass in it's present condition as it stands, he'd make the best money he could out of it. The only trouble is that, even being that he's Freddie's brother, most blues fans would be interested in one of Freddie's old guitars and amps more so than this bass neck, let alone the whole instrument.

He's trying to cash in on the name, and make more by selling the bass in pieces. I have never liked this practice.

I couldn't care less about it. And this applies to any instrument played by anyone in which there is significant wear. It doesn't matter to me at all whether the person was famous or not. Rip-off as far as I'm concerned.
