just moved to london a few weeks ago, currently a skint student but really into the idea of getting a strat, have been for years.
found a 79 strat, black, rosewood fb, plays like a beaut, going for just shy of £1500 (about $2400 USD)... in pretty good nick, not mint (a couple of dings and the frets aren't exactly mint) but damn good considering!
but to be honest I have no idea if I'm being gipped or not. there's a new 97 am strat going on the UK bass forums for £400 - which is a significant drop in price. of course the 79 would demolish it in terms of playablity (nicest strat i've ever touched), but what about re-sale value?
