Problems with a Warwick?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've recently contemplated selling my Warwick because I feel my hands are two small for it because the neck is too big. Has anybody ever sold thier Warwicks because of something like this?

A lot of people feel this way about warwicks. If the neck isn't comfortable for you, find a bass that is.

Yeah but the thing is, I love my Warwick because it's got a great sound too it, but this problem has just been bothering me since day one. It's also pretty hard to sell a bass.

I too love the warwick sound and the feel of my corvette 5'er hasn't been a problem for me yet. What warwick do you have? Why would it be hard to sell it? If you don't want to sell it online, take it to a store and trade it in for a bass that you do like.

Ehh, I ment emotionally it will be hard because you got attached to your basses. I have a Standard Corvette Passive 4 string.

Oh, I see what you mean...I am emotionally attached to my basses as well. Does the warwick's neck hurt your wrist and/or hand when playing it? Warwicks aren't for everyone. It isn't worth playing if it hurts you. I'm sure you can find a bass that fits your playing style better and can find that tone you love.

fer whatever it's worth, i struggled for a long time selling my warwick. it was an awesome bass. once it was gone i didn't miss it at all. i think the key is having a bass you like more. find that first, and then selling the warwick probably won't be a problem. might i suggest a bongo?

Yeah it hurts my thumb on my left hand alot when ever I play for like 20 mins, I probably can trade it in for something good at guitar center, especially because nobody knows a thing about basses thier .

Yeah, I would check out Jazz basses if I were you. Maybe somthing like the geddy lee jazz, as that has a really thin neck. However, Guitar Center is a warwick dealer, so they will have all the info on your warwick there, and will try to lowball your trade in value.

Yeah, that's true about Guitar Center. Thing is I've never really thought the geddy lee can pull of what I'll be playing.

I think the geddy lee would be a very good match for passive corvette standard. Practically the same bass, but not really, ya know what I mean?

Yeah, I guess I know what you mean. Put like what is something good for all types of metal ( I myself am in a Power metal band like rhapsody ) the warwick really pulled this off well. I just allways thought the geddy lee to be like a rock bass not fit for you know, a metal tone

There are plenty of basses out there. I can't name just one that I think will work for you. I was just trying to give you an example of a bass with a smaller neck, i.e. the geddy lee. But for a metal bass, your going to just have to go out there and play everything in your price range to find out what is right for you.
